It
is my firm belief that criminals should be held accountable for their
actions, both to the state for their conduct and to the victims for their
losses. In furtherance of this belief, my staff and I will do everything
possible to see that the rights of victims are assured.
This
site is intended to advise you of your rights as a victim under the laws
of our state. You will also find contacts that are available to answer
your questions and to assist you, including an important innovation of
victim rights; Victim Information and Notification Everyday (VINE).
Whether the defendant is still in custody or released, VINE
will give you that information.
Should
you wish further information on victim rights, I invite you to call the
State Attorney's Office at any time and speak to one of our Victim
Advocates.
Sincerely,

State Attorney
